POST GRADUATE CERTIFICATE COURSE IN ACUPUNCTURE
CONDUCTED BY IRIIM MOURIGRAM, HOWRAH, WEST BENGAL
(The course is Affiliated to Council of Acupuncture Therapy, Govt. of West Bengal)

ANNOUNCEMENT FOR SESSION

A. COURSE DURATION :
16 weeks Total Teaching hours: Minimum 200 Hrs.

B. ELIGIBILITY:
i) Educational qualification - Candidate must be Medical Graduate or diploma holder of any discipline, e.g. MBBS, BHMS, BNYS, BAMS, BUMS, DMS etc. or equivalent of University or recognized Educational Institute.
ii) Must be registered with the concerned council recognized by Govt. of India or State Govt.
iii) Age – No bar

C. MEDIUM OF TEACHING:
English. Bengali or Hindi may be used in addition depending on composition of candidates.

D. ACADEMIC SESSION:
Two sessions in a calendar year – February to May and October to January.
May be organised at any time with prior appointment.
Each session is of 16 weeks duration having a total of minimum 200 hrs.

E. CLASSES:
Classes will be held in general daily except Wednesday (institutional holiday) from 2-6pm as per the following schedule:

To get qualified for appearing in the final examination, each student is required to have 75% attendance.

F. TEACHING MATERIALS i.e. BOOKS, CHARTS & INSTRUMENTS NEEDED:

1. Text Book – ‘Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion’
2. Acupuncture Point Combination, By Dr. Bai Xin Hua
3. ‘Hand Book of Acupuncture’ – Dr. B.P. Sahoo
4. Chart on Channels or Meridians
5. Needles, Hammer, Moxa etc.

G. COURSE FEES:
1. For LOCAL TRAINEE (per head excluding boarding & lodging)

4.	Caution money (refundable)	Rs.     500.00
5.	Examination fee (Approx.)	Rs.     200.00

2. For OUTSTATION TRAINEE (per head INCLUDING only LODGING for specified period)

1	Admission fee	Rs.    500.00
2	Tuition fee	Rs.  2000.00
3.	Establishment fee	Rs.     500.00
4.	Caution money (refundable)	Rs.     500.00
5.	Examination fee (Approx.)	Rs.     200.00
6.	Donation for Lodging	Rs.  5,000.00
	TOTAL	Ind. Rs.  8,700.00

N.B. Outside trainees can attend in addition the morning clinics on permission.

H. ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
Admission is to be taken before the beginning of each academic session. Followings are required at the time of admission:

• The filled-up application form, prescribed by the institute
• Passport size photograph- 3 (three) copies
• Photocopy of certificates of professional exam. (University Degree/Diploma)
• Photocopy of certificate related to profession registration from respective Medical Council
• Requisite fees (Course fee + Exam. Fee as fixed by the Council)

Course fee are to be send by Cash or Demand Draft in favour of “Indian Research Institute for Integrated Medicine” payable at Kolkata. Local trainees can pay through local Cheque, outstation cheques are not accepted.

I. AWARDING OF CERTIFICATE FOR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES:
After final examination each successful candidate will be awarded “Certificate in Acupuncture” by the Council of Acupuncture Therapy, West Bengal (a statutory body of Govt. of West Bengal). Qualified candidates are also eligible for ‘PART-A’ REGISTRATION by the Council.
