In recent times drug addiction became a burning problem for the society. It is a social crisis also. People from various status of the society are becoming drug dependent day-by day. Lack of awareness addiction causes economic crisis of the society in general and the family in particular.

Keeping this idea in mind IRIIM started deaddiction programme in early ‘90s. Later on 'PRATYAYA' (confidence) -a 15 bed Drug De-Addiction cum Rehabilitation Center was established formally in 1993 with partial sponsorship of Ministry of Social & Empowerment (earlier Ministry of Welfare) Govt. of India. As we believe addiction is a chemical dependency both mentally & physically, so we treat the addict population through integrated system of therapy like traditional Acupuncture-Yoga-Naturopathy & Diet therapy primarily with minimum support of Western Medicine along with Counseling.

First step is to aware the addict person. We organize the awareness generation camp in the various addict prone area.

More than 5000 addicts are detoxified from our centre. They are coming from different area of Howrah (both rural & urban), surrounding districts of West Bengal and other states & neighboring countries.
